Knowledge Management Systems (KMS) go one large step further. KMS couple applicable information with captured organizational experience/knowledge and share the information and experience, together, with the appropriate recipient/s so that it leads to a more competently and efficiently operated organization.

EDO's Solutions

Our Information and Knowledge Management solutions are designed from the ground-up using the latest Internet and Intranet technologies. We integrate proprietary processes and tools with Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) software and hardware to gather, convert, format, and deliver information and/or knowledge across a client's enterprise.

Our typical solutions are structured as an  Intranet that supports secure remote access. An Intranet server is the storage repository for the information and/or knowledge. The server is integrated with custom software modules to manage the transfer of existing information into the system, minimize system maintenance, and provide remote, two-way, world-wide user access to the information. The server's repository content can be mirrored to customer-designated servers anywhere in the world.
System maintainers and users gain access through standard telecommunication channels, such as Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Wireless Networks, or the Internet. External access is controlled by a "firewall", a set of software protocols that restrict access via passwords, logon strategies, and other security techniques.
Typical system content includes training media, maintenance documentation, test procedures, problem/resolution information, surveillance videos, reports, presentations, etc.
An interactive help desk with news groups can be added to enable users to log problems, receive help, search for answers, and check problem status.
